Karate Lessons - Get a kick out of it!
Instructor George Manns offers karate instruction for all ages. Classes will be on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00-9:00 p.m. They are taught at the Recreation Shelter at 14th St. in Wood River. For more information, please call George at 465-5904.

Square Dance Lessons
The Wood River Square Dance Club was started by Mayor Lucien Ringering 61 years ago. The club is the oldest square dance club in existence in Illinois and has always danced in the Round House. Square dancing is good physical exercise for the body as well as the mind for all ages. Social action with other people is an added bonus. It is enjoyment & friendship set to music. A new class will begin Tuesday Sept 7 @ 7:00 p.m. for 2 hours each Tuesday. The first week of class is free. See you there. Once you have completed lessons, you may be interested in joining the Hoedowners on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each month for some square dancing fun. They meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Round House and invite other clubs and various guest callers. You are welcome to visit a lesson or dance anytime to see how much fun square dancing can be.

Imperial Swing Dance Lessons
Leslie Williams “The Swing Kid” holds Imperial Swing Dance Lessons on Wednesday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Round House. Imperial Swing is the St. Louis version of East Coast Swing, a smoother version of the old Jitterbug. For more information, give Leslie a call at 254-1482 or visit stlswingkids.com

Fall/Winter Gymnastics
This is a great way to improve your child’s strength and coordination levels. The program runs for five different four-week sessions from September thru May.

    6:00-6:45 p.m. Beginners
    6:45-7:45 p.m. Advanced Beginners
    7:45-9:00 p.m. Intermediates
